Why I Started This Newsletter!!!

I’m thrilled to welcome you to the very first edition of this newsletter—a space dedicated to helping you navigate your career and leadership journey with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.

When I began my career, I was chasing success by the book—until I realized I wasn’t writing my own. That moment sparked a deeper journey—not just of career clarity, but of leadership from within.

This newsletter is a space for real stories, honest questions, and transformative insights I’ve gained through coaching leaders and navigating my own path.

I started it because no one should feel stuck in a role—or version of leadership—that doesn’t align with who they truly are.

If you’re ready to lead your career with clarity and courage, I’m here to walk with you.

Lead your Career: Strategies for Impactful Growth Series

In a world where change is constant and expectations are high, it's easy to feel stuck, misaligned, or unsure of the next step. Whether you're an experienced professional seeking meaningful growth or a leader aspiring to make a deeper impact, this series is designed with you in mind.

Each edition will bring you practical insights, powerful questions, and real stories drawn from my coaching experiences with professionals and leaders across industries. We’ll explore topics like Clarity of Vision, personal leadership, strategic career pivots, visibility, executive presence, and habits that sustain high performance.

More than information, my intent is to create reflection, spark action, and remind you that you're not alone on this journey.

Welcome aboard. Let’s grow, lead, and thrive—together.

Series 1 /6: From Confusion to Clarity – Defining Your Career Vision

Let me begin with a familiar scene: A mid-career professional walks into a coaching session, sits down, sighs deeply, and says, "I’m successful… but I don’t know if I’m satisfied." Sound familiar? It should. Because behind every polished LinkedIn headline is often a silent question: Am I really heading where I want to go?

In my coaching conversations with professionals across industries—from engineers in tech to leaders in healthcare—this theme echoes repeatedly. The title may be impressive, the paycheck steady, but the inner GPS feels lost.

🤔 The Career Fog: Why Clarity Is So Hard to Find

Contrary to what career counselors in college promised, your path probably didn’t unfold in a neat, linear trajectory. Instead, it looked more like a game of snakes and ladders—with a few detours, survival-mode decisions, and possibly a moment of panic involving a spreadsheet at 2 a.m.

Why is clarity so elusive?

Because we rarely stop to define success on our own terms. We inherit goals, chase expectations, and get rewarded for being efficient—not for being aligned.

One client, a high-performing sales leader, came to me because he felt drained despite hitting all his targets. Turns out, his "success" was based on his father’s definition: stability, income, promotion. Not his. He craved creativity, impact, and space to build something of his own.

When he finally gave self-permission to define his own vision, his career took a radical—and more joyful—turn.

🌟 Practical Insight #1: Stop Trying to Fix the Job. Start Exploring the Vision.

Here’s what I often tell my clients:

"The issue isn’t always the job. Sometimes, it’s the direction."

Trying to change your role without understanding your vision is like rearranging furniture in a house you’re not sure you want to live in.

Start by asking: What do I want my work to enable for me and others? This question shifts the focus from tasks to purpose.

One of my clients, a finance professional, realized she didn’t need to switch careers—she just needed to pivot into impact-driven financial consulting. Same skills, different purpose. That one shift reinvigorated her entire professional life.

🎭 Practical Insight #2: Use a Vision Canvas (Not a Job Description)

Ditch the rigid job title hunt. Instead, build a Career Vision Canvas that includes:

  • Your core values

  • Skills that energize you (not just the ones you're good at)

  • Types of problems you love solving

  • The kind of people and environments you thrive in

Don’t aim for the perfect role—aim for alignment.

You don’t find your career vision on a job board. You design it.

🧰 Real Talk from the Field

Let me introduce Arjun, a senior project manager in tech. He came to me saying, "I don’t hate my job, but I don’t love it either. I’m just... doing it."

In the course of our work, he confessed he used to dream of being in strategy. But he believed he had "missed the bus."

Spoiler alert: Buses come more often than we think.

We mapped his past wins, strengths, and interests, and built a bridge toward a new direction. Today, he’s in a strategy role—and what changed first wasn’t his resume. It was his vision.

🤔 Powerful Questions to Journal On

Want to create your own clarity? Start here:

  1. What do I want to be known for beyond my current title?

  2. What energizes me consistently, even on tough days?

  3. If success wasn’t defined by income or status, what would it look like for me?

  4. What kind of impact do I want to make through my work?

  5. Where do I feel most misaligned—and why?

Clarity doesn’t come in a flash of lightning. It comes in layers—through reflection, honest questions, and pattern-spotting.

🙄 And a Bit of Humor… Because Why Not?

One of my clients once said, "I wish there was a Google Maps for careers. Just tell me where to turn!"

We laughed, but it’s true. Most of us want a shortcut, a hack, a GPS reroute. But here's the kicker: you can't outsource self-awareness.

And while I can’t offer you Google Maps, I can offer you the equivalent of a compass—your values, your energy, your aspirations. They won't always show you the full route, but they will keep you facing the right direction.

📊 Final Thoughts: The Power of a Clear North Star

Your career vision isn’t a 10-year plan. It’s a North Star—a guiding light that helps you decide what to say yes to, what to walk away from, and where to invest your time and energy.

Without it, every opportunity feels like a maybe. With it, even tough decisions become clearer.

So if you’re feeling stuck, lost, or just "meh" in your current role, start not with a resignation letter—but with reflection.

Because before you climb the ladder, make sure it’s leaning against the right wall.
